Have you heard of Olive Garden's Five Cheese Ziti? I love that pasta dish. Here's my at-home version, with three cheeses, but it's still just as good. Recipe adapted from Alyona.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb Ziti
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 15 oz diced tomatoes (drained or 2 diced tomatoes)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese blend (grated parmesan, Romano, Asiago)
  • 1/2 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cook pasta according to box instructions; drain and set aside. 
  2. In a medium saucepan combine the marinara sauce, heavy cream, tomatoes, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and add 1/2 cup of the parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup of monterey jack cheese, and 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese. Stir until bubbly and remove from heat.
  3. Once the pasta is cool, coat with 2 tbsp of olive oil.
  4. Place pasta on plates for serving and ladle sauce over the top. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese to your liking.

Note: When storing leftovers, store the sauce and pasta separately.
