Outside of a few youth group meetings and Sunday morning services, I didn't grow up going to church. In the fall of 2016, I was an 18-year-old freshman at East Carolina University majoring in Interior Design. In September of 2016, I was saved and gave my life to Jesus Christ. I didn't grow up going to church. My boyfriend (now my husband) Nick grew up going to church and naturally joined a Christian college ministry when he started attending ECU in 2014. When I came to ECU and joined Nick, I went to the ministry with him where I attended a conference. God met me right there.
I was baptized the following morning, and my pastor was praying over me after I got out of the water. Throughout my walk with Jesus, He has shown me time and time again that He can use anyone to share the Gospel and change the world, even me. He has taken my lament and turned it into dancing. I am so grateful for the decision I made to follow Jesus. He is my motivation and reason behind everything I do. God has been by my side when I walk through hardships and when I am rejoicing. I live to make Him known.
I'm married to my husband, Nick. We live in Eastern North Carolina with our two dogs, Dunkin and Paisley. I am a follower of Christ, a wife, and a business owner, in that order. I place my faith before my marriage, but I also place my marriage before my career and business aspirations. Nick and I love to work at Simple & Sentimental together. When we aren't at the office, you can find us binge-watching TV, going out to eat at our favorite mexican restaurant, or walking the dogs around our neighborhood.
